Duncan Soden, Owner
I’ve been in roofing since I was 19, so nearly 20 years now. Over that time I’ve worked for some big contractors and run jobs on all types of roofs, from buildings over 300 years old to brand-new developments.
I love being on the tools on site, working alongside and instructing my qualified team. There are five of us, with over 50 years of combined experience between us.
What I’ve realised is that I like to be involved from start to finish on every job, whether it’s a large contract or a small repair. You can be in touch with me as much as you like, and I take pride in shaking every customer’s hand when we finish.

Modtra Roofing is a small local business built on word-of-mouth and referrals. Previously trading as Ringwood Roofing Co., our team brings together traditional roofing skills and modern materials to look after homes across Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire.
A good roof is about more than its covering. It is the details at the eaves, around a chimney and where two roof surfaces meet. It is also the people who turn up, explain the work and leave your property tidy.
We aim to maintain your property’s character when replacing a roof. When a repair is the sensible option, we will say so. From the first conversation to the finished job, we believe in honest advice and clear, accurate pricing.

We have a dedicated Health & Safety Officer within our team, helping to ensure that all works are carefully planned, managed and carried out in accordance with current health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
We take our responsibilities seriously, prioritising the safety of our workforce, clients, site visitors and the general public at every stage of a project.
Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS) and relevant insurance documentation are available upon request, providing our clients with complete confidence and peace of mind.
